Weaver and textile artist Karin Carlander interprets classic techniques as the backbone of her creative process. Carlander decided upon paper yarn because of its crisp and delicate expression. Although challenging to work with, the inflexible plant-based material has its own personality and can withstand being dyed in colours. Dying the rug in hues brings attention to its unique texture.
